The Northern Trust: Jordan Spieth grabs Round 3 lead

Jordan Spieth birdied three of his last five holes Saturday to grab a three-shot lead at The Northern Trust.

Spieth began the day in a four-way tie for the lead, but he quickly broke out of that with four birdies in his first eight holes. The reigning British Open champion used a hot putter to separate himself from the rest of the field.

“When I came out there this lady, she was driving and I couldn`t believe she was in there and she just got to the point where the car stalled,” Smith told WDAF. “She was in there, I didn’t know if she had kids, because she was about nine months pregnant and she was very short, so I had to walk her out of there.”

The woman declined to be interviewed about the incident, but she was not the only person who has needed help in the area this week. Kansas City already has surpassed its highest rainfall total ever in the month of August at 9.65 inches, the National Weather Service reported Wednesday.

Smith, 51, was a six-time Pro Bowl selection during his 13 years in the NFL with the Chiefs, Broncos and Chargers. The defensive lineman finished his career with 104.5 sacks, leading the NFL with 15 in 1993.

The most common comment when this contract was signed was, “Who is Vance McDonald?” He has 866 yards and seven touchdowns to his name, which sounds fine until you realize those are his stats across four seasons. The 49ers reportedly were seeing if they could trade him just a few months after they signed this contract, which should tell you all you need to know about the deal.seahawks_128
